My Story
I was born and raised in New Haven, Connecticut, and like so many Black and Brown girls, I navigated systems that often didn’t see me, affirm me, or understand me. That experience never left me. It lit a fire in me to create the kind of space I needed growing up, a space rooted in love, sisterhood, and power.

I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut and my master of social work from Temple University. As a teacher, I saw up close how schools often fail to meet the social-emotional needs of Black and Brown girls. I knew our girls needed more than just academics, they needed safe spaces that celebrated their full selves.

That’s why I founded Queens Empowerment Academy. For the past nine years, I’ve had the honor of running this organization and it is truly the light of my life. Every day, I have the pleasure of pouring into girls, providing them with experiences and connections that are not just meaningful, but life-changing.

Queens Empowerment Academy is more than a program, it’s a movement. A movement to educate, envision, evolve, and empower girls ! Now, as I pursue my doctoral degree at Baylor University, I remain grounded in my purpose: to build spaces where Black and Brown girls feel seen and heard.
